2 Baptisms & Christmas!
Hello Everyone
So many great things happened the last few weeks, First of all we had 2 baptisms last week ! Pablo got baptized and we are so happy for him! He is such a light ! He wants to serve a mission and has such a strong testimony. His baptism was scheduled for sunday but he was leaving town to go work and so we hurried and got his baptism together in 3 hours !
Then are friend Kevin was baptized by his father. His family is so humble and kind. I was so grateful to be a part of his special day.
We are teaching a really great family and they had a daughter that just turned 8 so they invited us to her party. I Love to teach these little girls. It's been so fun to watch them learn about the gospel. My companion and I made a ton of sugar cookie cut outs and used them in our lessons for the kids & they love it ! I can't get away from making cookies haha
We are also teaching a neat guy named Tilo and his family. He is Filipino and speaks Spanish. He's pretty cool and he likes to say he's from Hollywood. We asked him to pray and he said he talks to God all gangster. My comp tells him that's ok Tilo God speaks gangster too. I just died laughing !
I have seen so many miracles in Salinas it's crazy ! Another family we are teaching speak mixteco and one of the family members wants to be baptized, we are so excited for her . She doesn't speak very much Spanish and she is so pure and kind to us. We have some members that speak mixteco so we always take them along in our lessons and it's been a huge blessing for us.
Christmas was an adventure for sure ! plans fell through for dinner and so we decided to take our bikes and take cookies to the homeless people and we shared a message about the Savior with them. It was pouring rain and they thought we were crazy and we are but I LOVED IT ! Definitely a Christmas I will never forget. Serving others is what I feel Christmas is all about. What better gift can we give our Savior than to serve his children.
