Hello Everyone,     Little bit of an update....still lovin sunny California especially San Jose ! This week was a bit crazy . We've been working on the street of Ensalmo way here in SJ. We found this young guy Alex who's 19 & just super cool. He let us come back to teach him a lesson this week. He just came out of jail and he read the Book Of Mormon while in jail, and has lots of questions for us. He told us that reading the Book Of Mormon actually helped him through his time and he would teach others cell mates what he was learning about ! He's had a really hard life and we aren't sure what he did time for other than it had something to do with a drive by shooting! Yes, the exact place in front of his house where we teach him.  He starts telling us he's been shot right on these steps to his house. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Honestly, it's in the ghetto. Hola!     This week has been great lots of little miracles. One thing I have learned on my mission is that if we look for the good every day we can  be happy, When we make the bad moments into happy times is when we grow and learn the most. For example we had some lessons lined up and they all fell through. Nobody was home and we felt SO bummed. However we ended up meeting some cool people on the street that evening and also found a cherry tree! :) I was trying to jump to grab some with no success. My comp helped pull me up to get some off a tree and we enjoyed the sweet cherries. We turned the evening into a positive experience. Missionary work is full of ups and downs yet if we just keep positive we can accomplish so much more. I'm grateful for these experiences. Hello Everyone     This week has been awesome. We've been busy finding new friends and working in the office, I'm amazed at how we are able to accomplish our goals each week. On Saturday we received a referral and went to visit the family, however when we arrived at the apartment the man that answered the door said we had the wrong address. Of course we didn't turn away but we shared a message with him and invited him to church Sunday. We were surprised when we saw him walk in the doors Sunday. I was SO EXCITED ! I know the Lord has a plan for everyone and this young man took a leap of faith from what little he knew about the church, he felt something and wanted to learn more. It's hard sometimes to get our friends to come to church but then little miracles happen like this and I'm reminded that this is the Lord's work and our job as missionaries is to help people feel the spirit. I'm excited to teach him and help him recognize the spirit. I'll keep you ...
