First Week MTC

Hola Amigos y Familia ,

 

 

My First week of online mexico MTC (CCM) has been awesome! I love being a missionary! I can't wait to teach people and share the love that I have for our savior and the restored gospel. I'm excited to start this new adventure and share the happiness that the gospel brings me. My teachers Herman Sanchez and Hermano Mercado are amazing and they have been great examples to me and how I can serve and love others. Most of them are recent RMs and share great stories and talk about how much they loved their missions. 

 

 

My spanish is coming along  & I can say a simple prayer and testify a little bit. I've had to rely on my faith that with diligently studying and with the help of my Heavenly Father it will improve each day. My companion is Hermana Jones from Enterprise ,Utah and she is going to be serving in Florida. She's awesome and has a sweet spirit and is going to be an amazing missionary! I have a great district and  we are learning and growing together. I'm learning so much from them it’s amazing how the spirit is so strong and testifies to each of us daily. 

   

 

A huge blessing to home MTC is my Dad,he has been able to help tons with my spanish so I'm very grateful for him and especially grateful for his patience :). It's like having  my own personal tutor.

  

 

A scripture that has helped me this week is 1 nephi 3:7 7 “And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandment  unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commanded them.” We are capable of SO  much and the lord always prepares away. He does not command us to do things we can’t do. He is constantly refining us and helping us grow. I know that when we go through hard times we can turn to a loving heavenly father and savior who loves us !

Hello Everyone     This week has been awesome. We've been busy finding new friends and working in the office, I'm amazed at how we are able to accomplish our goals each week. On Saturday we received a referral and went to visit the family, however when we arrived at the apartment the man that answered the door said we had the wrong address. Of course we didn't turn away but we shared a message with him and invited him to church Sunday. We were surprised when we saw him walk in the doors Sunday. I was SO EXCITED ! I know the Lord has a plan for everyone and this young man took a leap of faith from what little he knew about the church, he felt something and wanted to learn more. It's hard sometimes to get our friends to come to church but then little miracles happen like this and I'm reminded that this is the Lord's work and our job as missionaries is to help people feel the spirit. 2 Baptisms & Christmas!

Hello Everyone   So many great things happened the last few weeks, First of all we had 2 baptisms last week !  Pablo got baptized and we are so happy for him! He is such a light ! He wants to serve a mission and has such a strong testimony. His baptism was scheduled for sunday but he was leaving town to go work and so we hurried and got his baptism together in 3 hours !  Then are friend Kevin was baptized by his father. His family is so humble and kind. I was so grateful to be a part of his special day.    We are teaching a really great family and they had a daughter that just turned 8 so they invited us to her party. I Love to teach these little girls. It's been so fun to watch them learn about the gospel. My companion and I made a ton of sugar cookie cut outs and used them in our lessons for the kids & they love it !  I can't get away from making cookies haha  We are also teaching a neat...

6 MONTHS!!!

Hola!     Well I'm at my 6 month mark and I can't even believe it ! Time flies when you're  having fun !!      San Jose is the place to be and I'm enjoying my new assignment. The office has been pretty great so far, very different from what I'm used to but I'm learning the ropes fast. It's amazing what the church is doing with social media these days, we are able to reach so many people this way. I've been put in charge of the instagram(Spanish page) for our mission. I also instruct other missionaries on the use of their instagram page, and help them learn how to share the gospel on social media. It's been a unique part of the mission so far! We are still teaching some great people here in San Jose and I'm excited when we get to leave the office to  go teach ! My new companion is Hermana Yoder from Boise Idaho. She's super cute ! She produces all  the spanish videos for the social media pages and I'm her sidekick :)      I LOVE bein...
