Merry Christmas

Hello Everyone

 

 

Merry Christmas ! This week was GREAT! Christmas was pretty good, a little different being away from home and spending it with my 2 companions I've only known for 2 weeks haha yet they are the BEST and great examples to me. I love them! On Christmas we took cookies to people and sang carols which was festive and fun. It brought me joy giving back to the wonderful people in our area. Amazing members from the spanish branch had us over for Christmas dinner and spoiled us ! My favorite part was sharing a message of Christ with them. This Christmas was a bit different however it was a time for me to reflect on the real gift of Christmas which is the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.  These Scriptures have helped me ponder how Christ is The light, The life, and The hope of the world. 1 Corinthians 15:19-23, Moroni 7:41 . How is he your light, Life and hope? What other attributes or titles of the Savior mean the most to you ? 

 

  

This week we as a district have found 48 new people to teach. So awesome. One way we have found several people is teaching English classes. This service has been such a blessing to all the missionaries in Fremont. We definitely have hard days  when everyone rejects us, (usually  daily), which is ok and I'm learning to stay positive. I can testify that even on those bad days I see miracles happen !! That's the joy of missionary work. You gotta LOVE it !  We have people we are teaching who are just amazing  and have a desire to learn more about our Savior and  the restored gospel. We gave a Book Of Mormon to a lady named Cilena and she is awesome. We asked her to read a little in the Book Of Mormon and at our last lesson to my surprise she had read most of it!!  This made me SO happy because I know the joy the gospel brings me and I want to share that with her. I'm excited to watch her progress:)

Hello Everyone     This week has been awesome. We've been busy finding new friends and working in the office, I'm amazed at how we are able to accomplish our goals each week. On Saturday we received a referral and went to visit the family, however when we arrived at the apartment the man that answered the door said we had the wrong address. Of course we didn't turn away but we shared a message with him and invited him to church Sunday. We were surprised when we saw him walk in the doors Sunday. I was SO EXCITED ! I know the Lord has a plan for everyone and this young man took a leap of faith from what little he knew about the church, he felt something and wanted to learn more. It's hard sometimes to get our friends to come to church but then little miracles happen like this and I'm reminded that this is the Lord's work and our job as missionaries is to help people feel the spirit. I'm excited to teach him and help him recognize the spirit. I'll keep you ...

2 Baptisms & Christmas!

Hello Everyone   So many great things happened the last few weeks, First of all we had 2 baptisms last week !  Pablo got baptized and we are so happy for him! He is such a light ! He wants to serve a mission and has such a strong testimony. His baptism was scheduled for sunday but he was leaving town to go work and so we hurried and got his baptism together in 3 hours !  Then are friend Kevin was baptized by his father. His family is so humble and kind. I was so grateful to be a part of his special day.    We are teaching a really great family and they had a daughter that just turned 8 so they invited us to her party. I Love to teach these little girls. It's been so fun to watch them learn about the gospel. My companion and I made a ton of sugar cookie cut outs and used them in our lessons for the kids & they love it !  I can't get away from making cookies haha  We are also teaching a neat...

6 MONTHS!!!

Hola!     Well I'm at my 6 month mark and I can't even believe it ! Time flies when you're  having fun !!      San Jose is the place to be and I'm enjoying my new assignment. The office has been pretty great so far, very different from what I'm used to but I'm learning the ropes fast. It's amazing what the church is doing with social media these days, we are able to reach so many people this way. I've been put in charge of the instagram(Spanish page) for our mission. I also instruct other missionaries on the use of their instagram page, and help them learn how to share the gospel on social media. It's been a unique part of the mission so far! We are still teaching some great people here in San Jose and I'm excited when we get to leave the office to  go teach ! My new companion is Hermana Yoder from Boise Idaho. She's super cute ! She produces all  the spanish videos for the social media pages and I'm her sidekick :)      I LOVE bein...
