3 Months!! WoW

Hola Everyone!

 

 

The mission is going great ! I'm loving every minute of it ! Even the hard days haha :) I'm just about at my 3 month mark & I can't believe how fast time is going!! We are teaching quite a few people which is awesome. We have transfers this week and I get to stay with my trainer Hermana Ivines. She's the BEST !! My other companion Hermana Warner is being transferred. I'm super sad and will miss her greatly. I love her so much and grateful for all she's taught me. This week I was asked to do a cool video with the media missionaries. I painted a picture of Christ and gave a message, I did it both in spanish and english, the spanish video should come out soon this week, anyway if you'd like to watch it you can find it on my facebook page.

 

 

I would love to tell you about one of our amigas, Katrina Hernandez. She is amazing and sooo sweet! I love her so much. She is a young  mom and has so many questions for us and wants to know for herself what's true. God knows what's true and we need to ask him ourselves.We talked to her about the importance and power of prayer. We explain that we can know for ourselves when we pray to Heavenly Father with a sincere & open heart. The spirit was so strong as she gave her first prayer with us. I just felt so good and happy inside, she had a little sticky note with some notes so she wouldn't  forget what she wanted to say. I was so touched by her faith and sweet humble prayer, she even included each of us sisters in her prayer. 

 

 

I like this quote (not sure who said it) "Faith is when we close our eyes and open our hearts. " The world is always looking for proof or facts and sometimes we forget about hope and faith. I know that hope and faith is what brings us closer to the Lord. 

 

 

I was reading in John 15 this week (please read this chapter, it's SO great.)  Verse 26 talks about the comforter that he promises us. "But when the comforter is come, whom I send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."  I know the spirit testifies of him, I see it everyday as we teach and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to testify of Christ everyday !

Hello Everyone     This week has been awesome. We've been busy finding new friends and working in the office, I'm amazed at how we are able to accomplish our goals each week. On Saturday we received a referral and went to visit the family, however when we arrived at the apartment the man that answered the door said we had the wrong address. Of course we didn't turn away but we shared a message with him and invited him to church Sunday. We were surprised when we saw him walk in the doors Sunday. I was SO EXCITED ! I know the Lord has a plan for everyone and this young man took a leap of faith from what little he knew about the church, he felt something and wanted to learn more. It's hard sometimes to get our friends to come to church but then little miracles happen like this and I'm reminded that this is the Lord's work and our job as missionaries is to help people feel the spirit. 2 Baptisms & Christmas!

Hello Everyone   So many great things happened the last few weeks, First of all we had 2 baptisms last week !  Pablo got baptized and we are so happy for him! He is such a light ! He wants to serve a mission and has such a strong testimony. His baptism was scheduled for sunday but he was leaving town to go work and so we hurried and got his baptism together in 3 hours !  Then are friend Kevin was baptized by his father. His family is so humble and kind. I was so grateful to be a part of his special day.    We are teaching a really great family and they had a daughter that just turned 8 so they invited us to her party. I Love to teach these little girls. It's been so fun to watch them learn about the gospel. My companion and I made a ton of sugar cookie cut outs and used them in our lessons for the kids & they love it !  I can't get away from making cookies haha  We are also teaching a neat...

6 MONTHS!!!

Hola!     Well I'm at my 6 month mark and I can't even believe it ! Time flies when you're  having fun !!      San Jose is the place to be and I'm enjoying my new assignment. The office has been pretty great so far, very different from what I'm used to but I'm learning the ropes fast. It's amazing what the church is doing with social media these days, we are able to reach so many people this way. I've been put in charge of the instagram(Spanish page) for our mission. I also instruct other missionaries on the use of their instagram page, and help them learn how to share the gospel on social media. It's been a unique part of the mission so far! We are still teaching some great people here in San Jose and I'm excited when we get to leave the office to  go teach ! My new companion is Hermana Yoder from Boise Idaho. She's super cute ! She produces all  the spanish videos for the social media pages and I'm her sidekick :)      I LOVE bein...
