Last Transfer

Hello Friends and Family 


Well this is my last transfer of my mission, I'm almost done and I can't believe how fast time is going now. Sister Johnson and I get to stay together here in Salinas !! I Love it here so much. It's the best place to serve in the mission. The work here in Salinas is going great and so are the strawberries. I think I mentioned before that this is where all the beautiful strawberry fields are ! Next time you get a package of strawberries check to see if they are from Salinas CA. We typically have a carton of strawberries for dinner most nights.


 Our friends that got baptised have moved to Michoacan, Mexico this week and we will miss them greatly. The awesome thing about the church is that they will just head straight to the church in Mexico, and will have a intanstant family that will look out for them. They will be in good hands. We see miracles happen everyday here and I feel very blessed to be serving in Salinas. It's a special place.
Conference was so great this week and we invited some friends to come watch with us, in Spanish, I felt the spirit testify to me of a living prophet who guides us and leads us. It was such a spiritual uplifting weekend. If you missed it please go back and listen/read  these talks.  So much meaningful & important council for us all .


This morning on pday we were at the pulga(flea market) and this lady came up to me and asked if "I was with the church". I replied, ``Yes", I don't know what church she was thinking but that didn't matter to her or me. She begin to cry and tell me that her brother in law had just passed away , I just gave her a big hug and told her everything would be okay and she asked if I would pray for her and her family. I of course said yes I would pray for her and her family. She didn't know what church I was from and that didn't matter to her. She just saw my name tag and knew I was with a church. She showed faith by asking for prayers. She knows the lord can help her and comfort her.   
I've never been more proud to wear my badge and represent my Savior. My tag reads Hermana Green The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know without a doubt the lord puts us in peoples path to help and serve. This is his great work and his church. These past 17 months I have learned and grown so much, it will be hard to take this badge off. Until then I still have lots of work to do here and will keep working hard to the end.

Hello Everyone     This week has been awesome. We've been busy finding new friends and working in the office, I'm amazed at how we are able to accomplish our goals each week. On Saturday we received a referral and went to visit the family, however when we arrived at the apartment the man that answered the door said we had the wrong address. Of course we didn't turn away but we shared a message with him and invited him to church Sunday. We were surprised when we saw him walk in the doors Sunday. I was SO EXCITED ! I know the Lord has a plan for everyone and this young man took a leap of faith from what little he knew about the church, he felt something and wanted to learn more. It's hard sometimes to get our friends to come to church but then little miracles happen like this and I'm reminded that this is the Lord's work and our job as missionaries is to help people feel the spirit. 2 Baptisms & Christmas!

Hello Everyone   So many great things happened the last few weeks, First of all we had 2 baptisms last week !  Pablo got baptized and we are so happy for him! He is such a light ! He wants to serve a mission and has such a strong testimony. His baptism was scheduled for sunday but he was leaving town to go work and so we hurried and got his baptism together in 3 hours !  Then are friend Kevin was baptized by his father. His family is so humble and kind. I was so grateful to be a part of his special day.    We are teaching a really great family and they had a daughter that just turned 8 so they invited us to her party. I Love to teach these little girls. It's been so fun to watch them learn about the gospel. My companion and I made a ton of sugar cookie cut outs and used them in our lessons for the kids & they love it !  I can't get away from making cookies haha  We are also teaching a neat...

6 MONTHS!!!

Hola!     Well I'm at my 6 month mark and I can't even believe it ! Time flies when you're  having fun !!      San Jose is the place to be and I'm enjoying my new assignment. The office has been pretty great so far, very different from what I'm used to but I'm learning the ropes fast. It's amazing what the church is doing with social media these days, we are able to reach so many people this way. I've been put in charge of the instagram(Spanish page) for our mission. I also instruct other missionaries on the use of their instagram page, and help them learn how to share the gospel on social media. It's been a unique part of the mission so far! We are still teaching some great people here in San Jose and I'm excited when we get to leave the office to  go teach ! My new companion is Hermana Yoder from Boise Idaho. She's super cute ! She produces all  the spanish videos for the social media pages and I'm her sidekick :)      I LOVE bein...
